4 Days 3 Nights: Hanoi, Ninh Binh & Halong Bay

Day 1: Hanoi Arrival & Old Quarter Exploration (no guide- no meal)

Arrival & Airport Transfer: Upon arrival at Noi Bai International Airport (HAN), a pre-arranged private car or a reliable taxi/ride-hailing service (Grab/Be) will transfer you to your hotel in the Hanoi Old Quarter. The journey typically takes 45-60 minutes depending on traffic.
Check-in & Lunch: Check into your hotel (standard check-in time is often 2:00 PM) and have lunch at a local restaurant.
Afternoon & Evening (Old Quarter): Spend the afternoon at leisure exploring the vibrant Hanoi Old Quarter.
Walk around Hoan Kiem Lake and visit Ngoc Son Temple.
Enjoy a traditional Vietnamese egg coffee at a local cafe like Giang Café.
In the evening, explore Ta Hien Street (Beer Street) for dinner and a taste of local draft beer (bia hơi). 

Day 2: Ninh Binh Day Tour (Hoa Lu, Trang An, Mua Cave)- group tour (lunch)

Morning (Departure & Hoa Lu):
7:30 AM - 8:30 AM: You will be picked up from your hotel in the Old Quarter by the group tour bus/limousine.
The journey to Ninh Binh takes approximately 2-2.5 hours.
Visit the Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, exploring the temples dedicated to King Dinh and King Le to learn about Vietnam's history.
Afternoon (Trang An & Mua Cave):
Lunch: Enjoy a traditional Vietnamese lunch, often a buffet featuring local specialties like goat meat and crispy rice.
Trang An Grottoes: Board a traditional bamboo boat for a 2.5-hour scenic tour through the stunning Trang An Landscape Complex, passing through a series of natural caves and karst formations.
Mua Cave (Hang Múa): Challenge yourself by climbing the nearly 500 steps to the top of Ngoa Long Mountain at Mua Cave for a panoramic view of the Tam Coc region and the surrounding rice paddies.
Evening:
7:00 PM - 7:30 PM: The group tour bus will drop you back at your hotel in Hanoi.
Dinner on your own and relax in Hanoi. 

Day 3: Hanoi to Halong Bay (Overnight Cruise) (lunch, dinner)

Morning (Departure to Halong Bay):
8:00 AM - 8:30 AM: You will be picked up from your hotel in the Old Quarter by the cruise's shuttle bus or private transfer.
The transfer to Tuan Chau Harbour in Halong Bay takes around 2.5-3 hours via the new highway.
Noon (Embarkation & Cruise):
Arrive at the harbor around noon and complete check-in procedures at the cruise lounge.
Board the cruise ship and enjoy a welcome drink and safety briefing.
A gourmet lunch will be served as the cruise begins its journey into the stunning Halong or Lan Ha Bay, passing thousands of limestone islands.
Afternoon (Activities):
Participate in various onboard activities such as visiting a cave (e.g., Sung Sot Cave), kayaking or bamboo boating, and swimming at a designated beach or island (activities vary by cruise line).
Evening (Onboard):
Enjoy a cooking demonstration or a sunset party on the sundeck.
Dinner will be served onboard the cruise ship.
After dinner, you can try squid fishing, enjoy a drink at the bar, or simply relax in your cabin. 

Day 4: Halong Bay & Departure (Noi Bai Airport Transfer) (breakfast, lunch)

Morning (Tai Chi & Brunch):
Start your day with a Tai Chi session on the sundeck as the sun rises over the bay.
Enjoy a light breakfast or brunch onboard.
The cruise will continue to sail through different areas, potentially visiting a floating fishing village before heading back to the harbor.
Check out of your cabin around 10:00 AM.
Noon (Disembarkation & Transfer):
Disembark at the harbor around 11:30 AM - 12:00 PM.
You will be met by your pre-arranged transfer to Noi Bai International Airport (HAN). The drive takes approximately 2.5-3 hours.
Departure:
Aim to arrive at the airport around 3 hours before your international flight or 2 hours before a domestic flight.
Recommendation: It is highly recommended to book a flight departing no earlier than 4:30 PM - 5:00 PM from Noi Bai Airport to allow a comfortable buffer for the transfer and check-in process.
